About the role:

Executive for a group of product lines, technology, or specialized functions. Primary responsibilities include the identification, development, and implementation of strategic initiatives, franchise structure, and management development. The Site Director of Process Development Engineering will lead a team of Process Development Engineering Managers, Senior Engineers, Engineers, Technicians and others.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Identifies and communicates department vision, new strategies and projects for the improvement of key business metrics.
  • Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high quality staff.
  • Identifies and champions product development and functional excellence initiatives.
  • Identifies future technology and intellectual property critical to future business growth and drives implementation.
  • Develops and ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirement.
  • Has extensive internal, external, and industry specialists contacts.
  • Partners with and influences other functions to ensure common short and long-term business goals and strategies.
  • Champions the sharing and leveraging of initiatives, processes, and accomplishments across the divisions/plants.
  • Responsible for succession planning and the development and implementation of retention strategies.
  • Proactively reviews future technologies and plans needed resources with appropriate technical skills either through external search or training to prepare.
  • Prepare for the launch of new products as they are handed over from R&D through to the successful launch into a production scale operation.
  • Development and implementation of capable processes using Six-Sigma tools.
  • Development of necessary Manufacturing Process’s on Site ensuring optimization of layout and process flow using Born Lean tools.
  • Development of Process’s which fully meet our Regulatory and Quality requirements working in close relationship with QA and Manufacturing/Business counterparts.
  • Development and implementation of necessary maintenance procedures and protocols ensuring the process remains in control at all times.
  • Oversees the specification and purchase of capital equipment ensuring balance between optimizing our technological capabilities and return on investment.
  • Working closely with R&D to ensure that design for manufacturability is a key consideration in initial product design.
  • The PD Director will provide leadership and direction to his/her team, ensuring that his/her people are developed using coaching and mentoring to ensure optimal individual and team performance.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
  • Understands and comply with all the regulations governing the quality systems.
  • Ensures all direct reports are aware of their commitment to patient safety and product quality, are current with their training requirements and that they understand and comply with all other regulations governing their work.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licenciature in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electronic, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance Engineering.
  • 10+ years of work experience
  • 6-8 years of experience leading a team/organization of 100-200 team members
  • English level: 95-100%
  • Experience in managing large-scale, complex operations/Project Management/Simulation and Modeling/ ISO Certified Organizations
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge
  • Experience in the Medical Device Industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Familiarity and experience with product launches, quality systems and manufacturing processes and stakeholder management
  • Lean business/VIP experience
  • Experience leading teams in a site quality setting
  • Engineering or manufacturing background with ability to understand technical models
